Scoil Aiséirí Chríost is situated on the North Side of Cork City in a place called Farranree. The name Farranree comes from the Irish words Fearran Rí, which mean the Land of the King. Scoil Aiséirí Chríost first opened its doors to the children of Farranree in June of 1959. It is a Presentation School founded by the Sisters of the North Presentation Convent in Gerald Griffen Street. This is an all girls school. 400 children attend the school with a further 60 three year old boys and girls enrolled in the Early Start Preschool.
