In the spring of 2003, the Cork Baptist Church in MacCurtain St was so full that something had to be done. Cork Baptist decided that a 2nd service would be held on Sunday mornings at the Douglas Community School. As the work in Douglas grew, it was decided that the next step was to launch Douglas Baptist Church as a new church in May, 2006.
Douglas Community School is an all boys post-primary school.
