Founded in 1856 by one of Cork’s merchant prince families, the Murphys, The Heineken Murphy’s Brewery (then called Murphy’s Brewery) was built on top of the grounds of the 18th century foundling hospital on Leitrim Street.
HEINEKEN International acquired all the assets of Murphy Brewery in 1983. It is currently the site for the main offices of HEINEKEN Ireland, whose operations include that of Northern Ireland also.
